Insight Treatment Programs

Teen Mental Health Treatment

Insight Treatment Programs are recognized as a leader in Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) for teens, (13-19 years of age), struggling with mental health and/or substance abuse issues. Whether your teen is suffering from a mental health disorder, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, or ADHD or is having behavior problems such as, self-harm, addictive behaviors, aggression, and isolation, we are here to support and guide you, not just for the teen, but for the entire family.

Insight’s fundamental belief is that teens need to feel they belong to a community of their peers. Teens will only really open up and express their emotional pain and challenges when they feel safe in this type of environment. Our IOP program has been tailored with this in mind. We have designed fun and creative clubhouse environments where teens can relax, play games, and build positive relationships with peers. This environment has proved to be more conducive to fostering relationships versus a more traditional setting in an office or medical building. In addition to the weekly treatment/therapy schedule, we ensure the teens have weekend social activities and participate in local support groups.

As much as our teens need support and guidance, parents need it too! At Insight we provide a weekly Parent Group, Multi-Family Group, and individual family therapy sessions along with coaching by our experienced counselors and direct access to our therapists when needed.

Founded more then 20 years ago as one of the first drug and alcohol

outpatient treatment programs for teens in Los Angeles

, Insight has evolved into more than just a substance abuse program for teens. Today, we offer a primary mental health program that is addressing the underlying causes and issues that teens struggle with.

In all our years of experience, we have seen countless ways that teens act out, but what they all have in common is a long history of internal emotional pain that must be addressed before any real lasting effects will be sustained. It takes time, and there is no quick solution. With that consideration, we designed our program to provide our families a long-term support system. This gives us the staying power to really get through the hurdles and get to the deeper issues at hand. Many programs are designed to be 90 days only, our experience is that it takes longer to get to the core issues that are driving maladaptive coping behaviors.

If your child is going through depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, substance abuse or other mental health issues, I highly recommend Insight. They have a process that works!!! It’s not easy and process is very time consuming but it was time well spent given the results. Many people come and go due to the commitment required but if you want your child to get better, they need to finish the program. Also, it’s not just your child who needs to go through the process but the whole family that needs to be committed. It has done wonders for our child who now has the necessary tools to deal with life’s challenges. The staff is caring and wonderful and I’ll be forever grateful for what Insight has done for my child.

I highly HIGHLY recommend treatment if you are struggling but being a client at insight can be a very complicated experience. The staff is all very kind and caring. They love their kids and the work they do. But, it can be a very unorganized program. Some very simple things that even clients can think of to make their treatment productive, the staff fails to execute. Most groups are unproductive and more importantly unorganized. Often staff does not communicate with each other and the higher ups at insight make it even worse. On insight trips there is basically no communicatetion between staff and clients are often made to feel small or less then by male staff. Come if you need treatment. Stay for the felllow clients that will help you work through your issues more then the staff.

thw treatment is extremely helpful and I would recommend coming here. however, I would highly suggest that you do not go to insight trips. if you have past trauma with aggressive male authorities, I would stay clear of jonathan.

Very helpful I would recommend coming to THIS facility as the staff are very empathetic, understanding, and good at their job. However I would not recommend going on the insight trips as specific staff on those trips can often be very hurtful, agressive, and triggering to clients particularly those with PTSD resulting from abuse.
