Invicta Recovery Center is a dedicated and committed outpatient substance abuse program located in the Northern Pasadena/Altadena community. We strive to increase healthy living, wellness, and safety through education, advocacy, and motivation to support the prevention of substance abuse. An individual plan is developed with each client early on in treatment. The client is a full participant in the process and goals and objectives are based on individual needs, strengths, abilities, and preferences. Goals are stated in the client’s own language, and the client has open access to the individual plan upon request. Each client is assigned a primary therapist and case manager who are responsible for his or her coordination of care. Regular scheduled individual counseling sessions take place once to twice a week to assist client in both individual and program goals and objectives. In addition, counseling groups are held on a regular basis to utilize a therapeutic milieu that involves the client’s peers and/or family members. Invicta Recovery Center strongly believes individual recovery success depends on deploying mindfulness in tandem with evidence-based therapeutic modalities. Mindfulness requires our clients to be aware of their emotions, including negative feelings. Establishing healthy emotional awareness is crucial to our clients’ recovery. Structured and informal opportunities are provided through leisure activities and development of client educational activities while participating in Invicta Recovery’s treatment and programming. Clients participate in educational development of life skills, education on wellness and recovery, development of a social support network, and medication education. Skill development is encouraged to increase positive self-image and personal dignity. Educational activities and referral services are provided to support increased life functioning and quality of life. Invicta Recovery’s counselors assist clients with educational career support and counseling, including local College enrollment planning upon discharge from residential treatment. Discharge planning occurs throughout all phases of the program beginning at admission. The person served has met discharge criteria when the goals of the individual treatment plan are achieved and referral to support services is completed, when appropriate. Invicta Recovery Center’s commitment to long-term care includes ensuring that our clients and their families stay connected with us and receive support through whatever season of life might come next. We champion lifelong connections as the best way to sustain and further each person’s growth. Invicta Recovery Center’s outpatient program is purposefully and strategically structured to provide continuing care to those who have successfully completed a detox or residential, inpatient treatment program. Transitioning from full time recovery to a program compatible with life, work and family is challenging and takes commitment. Studies show that only 20% of people who transition from residential care without continuing care will remain sober after one year. Adding an effective outpatient program and continuum of care can increase the abstinence rate by 50%!1 Invicta Recovery Center is led by Arman Ter-Grigoryan, LMFT. He is the Chief architect behind the program’s dedication and commitment to the Pasadena/Altadena community.  Arman is a product of the community and has spent most of his life in Pasadena. Arman attended elementary, middle, and high school in Pasadena and worked for many years with local schools and community mental health agencies.  He is not just familiar with the latest therapeutic modalities and cutting-edge treatment models but is also keenly aware of how to implement those programs and services to the benefit of the community.  Arman is committed to helping those members of his community that he lives among, interacts with daily, and ultimately making the community a better and healthier place to live, work, and play.
