My practice in Nevada allows me to provide a wide range of mental health, anger management, and substance abuse counseling to individuals and groups.  If you decide to see me for treatment, you can expect a compassionate, knowledgeable and collaborative approach to addressing your concerns and issues.  My goal is to help you identify positive solutions for life situations and for recovery.  I look forward to hearing from you!

Currently, I hold two licenses in the state of Nevada, as a Clinical Professional Counselor and as a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor.  I was also a Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist in the state of Kansas, where I practiced for seven years.

Choosing a counselor can be a difficult process, and usually occurs when you are experiencing challenging personal situations.  Hopefully, your time here will give you an idea about my experience, the services I offer, and what you can expect if you decide to schedule an appointment.

Education & Experience

I have been a psychotherapist since 1993, when I received my masters degree in clinical psychology.  Over the course of more than 20 years, I have worked in many settings, including inpatient crisis hospitalization, outpatient mental health counseling, and intensive outpatient and outpatient addictions counseling.  My internship was in a veterans hospital, where I focused on the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, biofeedback training, and addictions treatment.

My theoretical training was primarily in Cognitive Behavioral Theory, which emphasizes the interaction between thoughts, feelings and behaviors.  Over the years, I have incorporated eclectic techniques from various theoretical orientations to best meet client needs.

My particular interests include treating depression, anxiety, anger issues, addictions, and helping clients develop healthy emotional boundaries.  I also have interest in discussing spiritual issues as they relate to current concerns, and in helping those dealing with serious and/or chronic health issues and their caregivers.
