I would like to start off by saying that there are some EXCELLENT nurses/CNAs in this facility. Including nurse Myra, and CNA Courtney. My mom who has been in this facility for over two years considers them her best friends. She adores seeing them and I do too. I can tell they take wonderful care of my mother. Courtney even bought my mom a Christmas present which she loved. However, I cannot ignore the fact that there is a common theme of neglect here. I visit my mom 1-3 times a week and I have seen people not be bathed for days, have to scream for water, and be yelled at by staff. My mom even had an accident here because the beds do not have safety rails, which I find ridiculous especially since many patients have limited movement like my mother. She was being changed and was dropped off the side of the bed face down. She had to be rushed to the ER because her forehead was gushing blood. She had staples in her forehead for a while and had to recover from this accident, which was DIRECTLY caused by the lack of care this CNA had. It is a miracle my mom didn't crack her skull open. This is atrocious, you'd think there would be more care when changing somebody who cannot move 50% of their body or protect themselves from falling. Overall I give this pace 3 stars, which is high. It would be much lower if not for Myra and Courtney who take care of my mom so well. To them, I say thank you. To the whole facility, I say do better, care more, and try to make these people's lives something that isn't suffering.

This is a horrible place, they put patients on broken beds and with out rails! No rails on their beds!!! That is not safe! They do not care and give the medical treatments they should. Never hear from the Dr.s nor the physical therapy on how your loved one is doing or not doing. They Do not take the time to train their new CNA’s. Do not take your loved ones here.

Horrible! Lack of communication! You have to be on top of them. Staff says one thing and then another staff says something else. Patient missed or arrangements not made for transport needed. Also fraud could be going on in the PT department. Calls not returned. If you can avoid this place do so.

My mother has been at this facility for 2 weeks for skilled nursing recovery from a stroke and fractured ankle, I have been very impressed with the caring staff. The nurses are responsive to my questions, admission staff made registration quick and easy, and my mom has reported the physical therapists are helpful and kind. I am very active in my mothers care, I visit her frequently. Overall, the facility is slightly dated but clean. If you are looking for amenities at a 4.5 star rating or better, this may not be the place. But if you are looking for affordable, in-network Medi-care facility this is a good choice. I appreciate the staff running COVID tests on every visitor upon entry as well as limiting the number of guests. The facility has clean linens, and the rooms are always neat and tidy. My mom stated the food is good and the staff offers her several choices, limiting her options due to her diabetic diet. I work in the medical field myself, I know my mother can be very difficult at times, and the caring nurses and staff are extremely patient with her. ***Update as of 9-1-2021*** this facility is trying to improve their quality of care. Some of the nurses do a wonderful job! The facility seems to have hired several new nurses and they are trying to upgrade the facility. I especially appreciate nurse Sarah and Myra. Today I was visiting my mom and Myra made 2 stops in her room to refill her water and to help get her changed before she left her shift. Myra also helped to shower my mom about a month ago when my mom was having a rough day. Sarah has been helpful to explain the treatment and behavior needs of my mother in detail. I will update my reviews as we continue care at this facility in the coming weeks. It’s hard to decide where to place a loved one, so I hope this review will be helpful to someone looking for a nursing facility for a loved one.

If I could give 0 I would. My mom is currently a patient at this facility. She is still very sharp in her mind. She knows what is going on around her. Her physical health is not so good. She is on Dialysis 3x a week, has a partial foot amputation and is diabetic, has heart issues and breathing issues. Last week the driver for her dialysis appt forgot her at dialysis and didn't get back to the nursing home until 3 am.She was in the wheelchair all that time! She asks for help and she doesn't get it, she says the nursing facility is constantly gossiping (especially night staff). She went to the Cardiologist today, he called me so upset because my mom was brought in severely ill. She had a temp of 103 and semi unconscious, she was rushed to Scripps. ( I live 1800 miles away I was not there ). She had pneumonia and her foot had an infection!!!!! And she hadn't ate in 4 days! I told the nurse at La Jolla, if your dog doesn't eat for 1 day aren't you concerned??? 4 days! When I spoke to the La Jolla nurse all she could say is she's sorry. This place is a death trap, if you love your loved one PLEASE don't send them there!!!!
