Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) at MedMark Fairfield
MedMark Fairfield specializes in providing comprehensive medication-assisted treatment (MAT). In MAT, the patient takes medicine that reduces their withdrawal symptoms and blocks other opioids’ effects. With fewer physical symptoms caused by withdrawal, the patient can focus on recovery. Our MAT programs involve additional support for the mental and social aspects of addiction.
At MedMark Fairfield, we use methadone as one option in our MAT program. Our field has seen years of positive results from methadone treatment, showing that it’s a reliable option under medical supervision. When you take methadone, you and your doctor will find a treatment plan that suits your needs. Every patient has a regimen with the highest effectiveness for their symptoms. During the start of MAT, you’ll attend our clinic every day to take your medicine. You may have the option to take your medicine home after you make progress.
To address the psychological effects of opioid use disorder, our MAT patients also attend individual therapy sessions. Your counselor will help you find ways to change your opioid-related thoughts and behaviors. These therapy appointments will give you a judgment-free space where you can work on healing from addiction. Each patient has unique goals in counseling related to recovery.
In addition to medical and psychological treatments, we provide social services to support each patient. MAT participants receive care coordination between MedMark services, and patients in specific situations may also receive additional help through services such as coordinated pregnancy treatment.
