Addiction Treatment Approach for Men

Let’s face it, the underlying issues that cause men and women to turn to drugs and alcohol are often very different. For men, feelings of anger and resentment, coping with career related pressures, stressing about money, struggling in relationships, and past trauma are common drivers of addiction. The experienced drug and alcohol counselors and master’s level therapists at our men’s drug rehab will work with you on getting at the root causes of your addiction. They collaborate with you on creating an individualized treatment plan, and on helping you learn new coping skills that will eventually replace your desire to drink or use drugs with healthy coping strategies.

Men’s Program Components

We offer a number of male focused program features. For example, we provide men’s only housing with a maximum of 6 residents per house and semi-private rooms to foster a community feeling that is relaxed and comfortable. Male focused experiential groups, such as daily gym access, massage and 12- step outside meetings (optional) are very popular, as are the delicious chef prepared meals. Gender separate programming specially tailored for men also encourages the male residents to be more honest with each other about the various drivers of addiction that they are struggling with. Other program components include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Certified Yoga onsite, and outdoor activities such as golf, bowling, hiking, and local park activities.

Chef Prepared Meals

Why settle for bland “facility” food when you can enjoy 5 star cuisine? The food you will be eating in rehab is an extremely important part of the healing process, because your body has been starved of essential nutrients since your addiction first took hold. We believe the food should be excellent, because you will eat about 90 meals during a typical 30 day stay. Our chefs have experience working in healthcare settings, and understand that balanced, nourishing meals are an important part of recovery. They are also skilled at preparing delicious vegetarian, vegan, diabetic friendly, and gluten-free options upon request. Every meal is served restaurant style, dessert is offered regularly, and a daily fresh salad bar will give you plenty of healthy options. Daily gym access is also offered to help you burn off some of those extra calories. Contact us today if you would like to receive more information or a sample menu.

My experience at New Dawn was very positive. The staff is caring, knowledgeable and helpful. The houses were comfortable, the food was great and all in all it was a very healthy environment to retreat to and focus on getting healthy. The group settings were a benefit to myself and fellow clients. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Shannon, Erica, Wes, Jeremy, Kevin, Ricky, Adam, BIANCA, Jeff and all the other staff who were there to help.

Overall my treatment here was pretty great. Sure there were a few hiccups, but pretty minor. Staff really wants to see clients succeed, but don’t sugar coat...your recovery is in your hands. They will give you several tools, use them...build on them...stay alive! Could use a little more one-on-one counseling, but if you seek them out, they will make time for you. So don’t be afraid to ask. Be active in your recovery, it’s not just given to you. “Sobriety is not owned, it’s rented - and rent is due everyday!” Thanks New Dawn staff. Keep up the great work.

I reached out to this program for my father. I gathered information from a young lady who worked the weekend, she was great. She needs Danielles job. I called again on Monday and was able to speak to Danielle and she was not the most pleasant to speak to. She told me that what we had figured out over the weekend was not a "full" program which I explained I understood and was ok. She told me she could not call my father because I didn't know what his insurance was. I told her to set it for cash pay and if his insurance would cover anything we would cross that bridge when we get there. She told me Monday at 11:53 am that she would reach out to him to start the intake process. Tuesday I call my father to see how things are going and he never received a call. So I call new dawn to figure out what's going. I don't get danielle but I do get another young lady who let me know that Danielle was to busy yesterday or maybe forgot to call. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that they don't have any. And that if I wanted to e mail her she would forward my e mail to the appropriate person. I didn't trust that so I'm here. Danielle should realize that when people are reaching out for help, that's the time to try to be supportive, caring, and of coarse respectfull. She was more " lightly argumentative" with me. Im 3 years sober and have gone through treatment myself. And she is not a person I would remotely recommend anyone or their loved one too. I asked for the owners number or anyones number, not at that office and was denied. The young lady working with Danielle was trying her best to help the situation but sound like her options were limited. If any owner or management sees this please feel free to reach out to me so we can discuss this issue further if needed. She will know who I am and my phone number as well as my father's is listed in the unfinished intake forms. Edited because their is multiple Danielle's. My apologies to the innocent. Thank you.

People tend to relapse here and hide amongst the bushes in the quiet neighborhood as I am told. Friends of the patients tend to park all around the streets and "hook their buddies up". I was scared for people coming in here. If you are considering coming here, it is ill advised. Be warned, the neighbors are fed up and we will protect ourselves if you get near us again. P.s. look at their website, the house pictured, is not even CLOSE to looking like this house. Move along... there are better facilities around the region.
