My grandfather had a wonderful experience here!! We were so nervous about making sure he got the proper rehabilitation after his stroke, but from start to finish Palm Terrace made him and us feel comfortable. Staff was attentive, kind and very professional. The therapists were extremely knowledgeable and really helped him progress to the point where he could safely return home. He is back in his own home now thankfully but will be returning to continue outpatient therapy. Cannot thank the entire staff of Palm Terrace enough!!

My father passed away in this facility in the middle of the night July 2014. A few hours before he sat with my brother and mother, ate dinner, and was feeling quite well. Supposedly the attendant found him unconscious on the ground, and he was rushed to the ER where he was unable to be resuscitated. In shock, the following day, our family went to Palm Terrace to retrieve his personal items. Prescription pain meds, expensive eyeglasses, jacket, and cell phone — all missing. The administrator was useless in recovering these items. His room was stripped clean, and no one seemed to care.

My mom has been a long term resident in Palm Terrace and I can't say enough about the wonderful care she has been receiving. The staff is kind, professional, and super caring. They work very hard but always with a smile. They call me for every detail on my mom's situation, and I am very appreciative of their amazing job. They sent me photos of her during activities, or Bingo playing, and video call me twice a week in case I couldn't go for a visit. Thank you, Palm Terrace!❤️

I am shocked by all the positive reviews. Maybe it depends on the patient, but our experience has been vastly different. We have visited my father several times and the lack of attention to either him or us is in stark contrast the Kaiser hospital he was discharged from. For days, nobody would give us any updates on how he was doing. The first we would know of a problem with his breathing or awareness would be during our visit when we discovered it. At no point did anybody talk to us as we walked in and visited. Nobody checked in while we were there (making us wonder how long he just lays there alone). No case manager, nurse, or doctor, reached out to us after 4 days. When I would go to the nurses station to ask about him, they seem befuddled who I was talking about and would brusquely point me off to some other nurse or supervisor. When we were told (via a phone call on the first day) that they needed to speak with my mother about some paperwork, nobody came to see us visit after visit (we make an appointment and check in so they know we are there). After we finally walked over (2 visits later), they seemed confused what I was talking about, and then only after rifling around the chart (which I helpfully pointed out to them on their desk), they realized they needed a signed DNR (which seems important). They also didn't mention that we should bring him some clothes until after a few days we noticed him in a shirt that we way too small and uncomfortable. They mentioned the shirt was too small for him as well which prompted us to ask "Should we bring some clothes for him?". If they had made us aware of that we could have brought plenty on the first day. The doctor and case manager were both very good and responsive, however. All in all, while I'm sure it is difficult to care for and attend to so many patients, they seem disorganized and inattentive, both to the patient and to the family members.
