What is it?
Thwajik Ki is a residential program for the treatment of substance abuse. The program focuses on the whole person – body, mind, and spirit. Dual-diagnosis accepted based on level of stability and appropriateness for level of care.  Treatment is a minimum of 16 weeks but may be extended depending on the progress of the individual.

Who Can Benefit?
    > Any Native American from a federally recognized tribe is eligible.

    >Admission of individuals with a history of a sexual offense will be determined on an individual basis.

    > Individuals do not need to be on AHCCCS for admission although it is preferable.

The individual must present in a sober state and free of withdrawal symptoms. Impaired individuals will be referred to a detox facility, but once completed, s/he can enter Thwajik Ki.

Can I Bring My Children? Two children up to the age of 12 years of age may accompany their parent into treatment if childcare is a barrier to treatment. Because of the need to focus on treatment, it is preferred that the individual enter treatment without his or her children and have them come for overnight visits or work toward coming to the RTC with their parent as the individual progresses in treatment.

Transitional Living Care Program (TLC)

The Transitional Living Care Program is a transitional living program for clients who complete the residential program at Thwajik Ki and who want to continue services on an outpatient basis. Clients submit an application for acceptance into the TLC program, and if accepted, can reside at Thwajik Ki for an additional six months. Clients in TLC develop goals to help maintain their recovery and utilize valuable life skills as they prepare to live a life of recovery following the completion of the six month program.
