SMC Recovery

SMC Recovery offers treatment solutions for those dealing with opiate addictions by using evidence based treatment models. SMC Recovery is an Opiate Treatment Program. We provide medication assisted treatment and methadone maintenance. Services are provided to adults, eighteen years of age and up. This is an evidence based program. We use this in conjunction with the 12 step model, along with a strong emphasis on individual spiritual and physical health. We will also focus on social responsibility and independent living skills. All medical and clinical services are provided at 10207 N. Scottsdale Rd., Scottsdale, Arizona 85258, by licensed behavioral health professionals or behavior health technicians under the direct supervision of a behavior health professional. All staff credentials and licenses are verified. Maintenance Services are available, assessable to all clients regardless of ethnic group identification, physical or mental disability, race, color, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation or political affiliation. Clients must meet ASAM criteria for opiod treatment. Priority admission status will be given to pregnant clients. SMC Recovery Narcotic Treatment Program provides Maintenance Services to clients who meet criteria.

It’s a bit embarrassing leaving a review on here but I feel like it is deserved. This establishment has incredible staff that only wants to help each individual with their individual needs. Deon (counselor) is fantastic and can’t say enough good things. Lisa (lead of the establishment) and her nursing staff works with everyone to make sure everyone gets what they need. They helped me when I needed it. I had to leave early but felt the need to leave a review. Thanks again

LISA IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! I started this clinic 4 years ago when I was desperately wanting to stop using. I definitely wouldn’t still be clean if it wasn’t for her. Being in addiction for as long as I have led me to see many different treatment centers, clinics, and councilors etc. I can honestly say that SMC is one of the most caring places I have been to. From day one they welcome you exactly where you’re at with loving arms and genuine care. This is the only clinic out of many that I have seen that is not money driven and actually works hard for their clients. Every member of staff here is great, and understand how individualized recovery is and help you create specific treatment goals designed just for you. Lisa is the heart and soul of this place and through her own journey she is able to have that true love and compassion for her clients that you very rarely find these days. She’s gone above and beyond for me more times than I can count and I consider myself so blessed to have chose this place. I have stayed here when I moved away for 4 months and had to drive almost two hours one way once a week, and have also stayed here when I could have gone to another place for free. (This is before they took insurance.) Anyways if you’re looking for people that truly understand that recovery is a process with good times and bad and are there to help you through rather than kick you out or reprimand you then this is the place.

I’ve been a patient at this clinic for over 3 years, the staff is awesome especially Lisa and all the nurses! It’s a clean facility and your able to get in an out with zero waiting! I don’t have any experience with other clinics but i picked this one even though it was expensive in the beginning and a 30 min drive every day, it was well worth it in my opinion. They did start taking my insurance not too long ago. They do really care about your life and recovery, I’ve gotten so much help from housing situations, jobs, and referrals for mental health and other therapists. They are very understanding to your situation and try to help in anyway. They’ve made many exceptions for me due to travel or other things on multiple occasions. Before coming here I was very skeptical about MAT but I’ve tried everything else. I’ve heard horror stories about how difficult it is to get off methadone and that it’s liquid handcuffs. At this clinic that’s the farthest thing from the truth. The best part is your in charge of your dose. I’ve been tapering down for a while and there’s no monthly limit on how much you can taper.

I’ve been at SMC now for a little over a year, and have primarily positive experiences. They are an excellent small clinic (only 120-150ish patients) and one nurse who does the dosing. The Dr is lovely and has an extensive history working with addicts in recovery. They offer up to 13 days of takehomes in the final stage, which has worked out well so far. Also the staff is very friendly, kind, and welcoming. My counselor always asks if there is anything I need help with. I appreciate that they treat each patient on an individualized level. This is a clinic that is not out for $, but rather prioritizes patient care. They accept Mercycare insurance, otherwise $60 a week. Also they have successfully done the Bernese Method— of slowly tapering down the methadone and increasing micro doses of suboxone simultaneously, thus having to stop methadone for 3-4 days and being super sick when they do a suboxone induction, which I wouldn’t even consider until a dose below 40mg.
