Stay Designated

Following a fatal drunk driving car accident that took the life of his passenger, and friend, he was charged and later convicted of alcohol related crimes causing both injury and death. After receiving mercy from the courts in the combination of a shorter sentence, community works, formal probation, and ordered to pay restitution, Griffen made a decision to devote his life to fighting the epidemic that is drunk driving and honoring the life of his friend, Eric. With the understanding that intoxicated driving is a preventable behavior, Griffen and Stay Designated, began a journey aimed at preventing the damaging affects left on victims, perpetrators, and the families of each. As he spent the next several years building on that single concept, Stay Designated was born. Expanding the initial mission statement to include drug abuse and other addictions, combined with destructive behaviors, Stay Designated's current mission aims to support prevention, educate on decision versus consequence, ensure both 'perpetrator and victim' rehabilitation, as well as supporting those seeking recovery.  
  

Our Mission:

"To offer support to those struggling with alcohol as well as other substance abuses and destructive behaviors. With a focus on reducing driving under the influence injuries and fatalities, intoxicated driving, underage drinking, and drug abuse, we strive to offer education and other means of prevention, promote victim advocacy, as well as assist those both directly and indirectly affected. Ultimately, we aim to achieve positive rehabilitation for all parties involved."  

What we're all about:
 
Our primary purpose is to impact the current epidemic of drunk driving, underage drinking, and drug abuse by educating on the very gruesome, real, and harmful truths and consequences of participating in such behaviors and preventing drunken driving inccidents. Differing greatly from other organizations educational programs, Stay Designated, founded by an offender, hopes to bring together education in a rare and enlightening format. From a refreshingly skewed viewpoint, while demonstrating from personal experience, it is our hope that we can enhance the understanding that lives can literally change in a moment. With this fast pace, ‘do-now-and-think-later’ generation, Stay Designated brings an, in your face take, on decision versus consequence.

We also believe equally in the need for recovery. Stay Designated Counseling Services strives to offer indivdual counseling, outpatient substance abuse treatment program (Chances for Change), Crisis Support Counseling, anger management, education based workshops, 12-step model groups, open process groups, as well as coaching and mentoring (i.e. Sponsorship) as similarly represented in many 12-step programs. For those that seek recovery, we welcome you. There are millions of people that have sought recovery from substance abuse and/or abuses they’ve faced by others’ substance abuse. The capabilities of its potency are endless.
